Cloud multistreaming service adds live commerce, broadcast redundancy and full mobile production as the demands on live video change
ESPOO, Finland, [date] — Live streaming has changed shape. What began as a way to reach an audience has turned into something people sell from, run teams around, and cannot afford to have fail. OneStream Live has rebuilt its platform to match.
The cloud-based live streaming platform, used by creators, businesses, educators and faith organizations, has detailed a major upgrade that adds live commerce tools, stream redundancy, expanded team controls and a mobile app capable of running a full production. The upgrade is available to existing customers on their current plan and at their current price.
“The job changed underneath everyone,” said Hanan Naeem, CEO and co-founder of OneStream Live. “Eight years ago, people asked us to help them reach more platforms. Now they ask how to sell from a broadcast, how to bring in a producer without handing over the account, and what happens if the connection drops during something that cannot be repeated. Those are not streaming questions anymore. They are business questions that happen to involve video.”
Live Sales answers the first of those. Shoppable product cards appear on screen during a broadcast, each carrying a title, a description, product images, a price and a scannable QR code that links to the seller’s own product page. Viewers scan with a phone and reach the checkout while the stream continues, without leaving for a link in a profile.
Because the card sits inside the video rather than inside any one platform’s shopping tools, the same broadcast carries it everywhere it goes. A single stream reaches more than 45 destinations and the web at once.
Reliability drove the second set of changes. Premium accounts can configure a backup stream key, which runs a second ingest endpoint alongside the primary one and takes over automatically if the primary feed drops. Encoder support also expanded, and WHIP and SRT now run alongside RTMP and RTMPS for broadcasters on unpredictable connections.
Team access was rebuilt around a new Co-Host role. Co-Hosts edit scheduled events and manage on-screen elements during a session without reaching billing, team settings, stream keys or connected social accounts, so an organization can staff a broadcast without sharing account credentials.
“Behind every good broadcast there is a team,” said Bilal Chaudhry, co-founder and Chief Operating Officer. “Someone on camera, someone producing, someone answering the audience. For years, the only way to bring those people in was to share one login and hope nothing went wrong. The Co-Host role changes that. Everyone gets exactly the access their job needs and nothing more, so organizations can grow their streaming team without giving up control of their account.”
Studio, the browser-based production suite, now offers complete scene setup, so a broadcast can be arranged before it starts rather than assembled while viewers watch. Alongside the regular Studio, users now also get Instant Studio, a permanent studio link that can be bookmarked, customized and reused for every session, so there is always a studio ready to enter.
The mobile app was rebuilt too. A phone now runs a full production, so a broadcaster can invite guests onto the stage, build scenes ahead of time, brand the stream with logos and overlays, and go live to more than 45 destinations at once.
For the many people who broadcast away from a desk, that removes the last reason to carry a laptop. A conference floor, a shop floor, an event venue or the back of a hall now needs nothing beyond the phone already in someone’s pocket.
The upgrade is now live for every OneStream Live customer, on their current plan and at their current price. There is nothing to purchase and no upgrade fee. The updated OneStream Live mobile app is available on the App Store and Google Play.
